Entry Requirements
Entrants to this qualification must have access to a computer, laptop, hand held or mobile device, the internet and also meet one of the following criteria:
- Possess a Certificate IV in Community Services (or related discipline); OR
- Possess relevant skills and knowledge gained through work experience; OR
- Possess an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (i.e. a Year 12 qualification) or equivalent; OR
- Demonstrate through a video conference, phone or in person interview the appropriate skills to undertake the course.
Additionally, to facilitate successful completion of the course, it is recommended that entrants have:
- A minimum of 6 months’ work experience in any role
- Proficiency in the use of technology and social web based programs (such as Facebook)
- High level language, literacy and numeracy proficiency.
Working with Children
All students undertaking this course will require a Working with Children Check for working with children in their State or Territory, prior to commencing any work placement component of the course.
Numeracy (LLN) competency
Prior to enrolment applicants with special needs in regard to language, literacy or numeracy; physical or intellectual ability; or cultural or ethnic background will be assessed as part of the college’s approach to training needs analysis to determine support requirements. Applicants will be informed as to the type of support that can be provided by organisation to maximise possibility of attainment of the national qualification sought.
