Our CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling is designed for people wishing to develop the interpersonal skills and knowledge of recognised counselling modalities required to counsel others either as part of an existing role managing people, or specifically as a Counsellor in an established agency. Our elective units are carefully selected to reflect real-life community needs.

You will learn established counselling modalities that you will apply when working as a Counsellor with clients that present with various personal and psychological issues. Counsellors draw on high level communication, micro-counselling and interviewing skills as well as learned counselling therapies to assist clients.

Entry Requirements

Students applying for this qualification need to show academic suitability. This can be done by providing a copy of a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (year 12 certificate), or evidence of successful completion of an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Certificate IV or higher qualification (where the language of instruction is English).
